Requirements for this opening include:
- Must be a Lawrence County resident and US citizen;
- Able to attend at least 10 monthly meetings per year, and complete a minimum of 4 hours of training annually;
- Knowledgeable in the field of developmental disabilities or other allied field, and have professional training/experience in one or more the following areas: business management, finance, law, health care practice, personnel administration or government service;
- Be an immediate family member of a person eligible for LCDD services – specifically residential services or supported living
The following people cannot be board members:
- Elected officials (except township officials);
- Current board members’ immediate family;
- Board employees or their immediate family;
- A former employee of the LCDD who left less than 4 years prior to the date of appointment;
- A former employee of a different DD program who left less than 2 years prior to the date of appointment;
- Provider agency employees or their immediate family (unless a review finds there is no conflict of interest);
- Immediate family members of the county commissioners that serve the same county as the DD program.

Completed application packets must be dropped off or mailed to the Board office and be received by 4:00PM on November 8, 2024 to be considered.
